Why Families Work With Me
Twenty years ago, I gave birth in a country far from home — no family nearby, and no one who shared my language who could tell me what to expect from parenthood or whether what I was seeing in my newborn was even normal. A postpartum doula sat with me through those uncertain first days, and her calm became the thing I held onto. I've never forgotten what that steadiness was worth. In the years since, I raised my own son largely on my own through four exhausting months of colic, ran a small daycare for two years caring for children alongside my own child, and spent two more as a Certified Nursing Assistant in skilled nursing care. All of it pointed the same direction: I wanted to become, for someone else, what that doula once was for me.
My focus is simple: your complete physical recovery and your emotional footing as everything in life shifts around you — I hold the rest steady so you don't have to.
